What is a lot? Is there any worker brood? If so, does the worker brood have a good pattern?

There is plenty of worker brood, Out of my 6 hives just this one had what seemed to be alot. On one of the frames there was probably 20-30. and on about 2 other frames there was 15-20 on each one...maybe that not alot but the other hives did nto look like that. Thanks for your help

I don't think that's too much - this time of year it is hard to stop them from rearing drones. Maybe this bunch is just a little more determined. Did you start them on foundation or on drawn comb? If on comb there might have been some drone comb already present.

Hi Chris,
Did you use starter strips by any chance? Old rule of thumb always was no more than 10% or so of drone per comb.

reply:
Why that's not much at all. If the bees in those other colonies want drones they will make them, without a doubt. If better then 1/10th of the frames is MORE drone than cull and replace (both sides not just one). By the sound of it your not even close.
