Thanks Michael; The hive has only 2 med. supers for brood. I flipped them this spring as they had filled the top and left some bottom. They then filled the flipped one. I put on another med. for brood with the wax sheets but they just made honey and she never came up. Its been the same ever time thru 4 supers. I looked at one frame of brood couple of wks. ago and it was full both sides of capped brood. Should I have moved some of the brood up? Thanks John

You have two medium boxes full of brood? That's about right. Sometimes the queen does a chimney up the middle and does only about four frames in each of five boxes. Sometimes she stays in the bottom two. I don't mind either way. If you want to bait them up and they are strong and the weather is nice (so you don't get chilled brood) you can put a frame or two of brood up one box and bait them up. That way you can also put an empty frame or two in the brood and keep them busy so they don't swarm.
