I'm not sure of the exact dimensions of the national. I have DE hives and think they are close. I use them mixed up all the time. The adaptor that I built is made of 3/4 by 3/4 boards. Two go up and two go down. Two of the sides are spaced to match the Lanstroth and the other two are spaced to match the DE. I drilled and screwed them with 1 1/4" deck screws at the corners.

I supose one could buy 1/4" waterproof laun plywood and cut it to the largest dimensions of both on the outside and then cut a hole in the center to the smallest dimensions of both. It would only add 1/4" to the beespace.

Which one would work better probably depends on the top and bottom beespace on the National. I'm also not sure if the National is top or bottom beespace, where the Lanstroth is "mostly" top beespace. A Lanstroth has 1/4" at the top and 1/8" at the bottom.

Hope this helps.
