Can I use 4 frame nucs for a split?? If so how is the right way??

If you want to buy a queen then put a frame of open brood a frame of capped brood a frame of honey/pollen and an empty frame in the box overnight and then add the queen cage with the hole in the candy. Shake a few frames of nurse bees (from open brood in) while making SURE you don't get the queen in the nuc.
If you want them to raise a queen put a frame of open brood/eggs two frames of capped brood and a frame of honey/pollen in the box and leave them alone for four weeks and you should find a laying queen when you come back.
If you number the frames from right to left, the honey/pollen goes in position 1, the open brood in position 2, the capped brood in position 3, the empty frame or the other fame of capped brood in position 4.
