A friend with allergies wants to take a dosage of my honey to fight them. How much and how often should she take it? Without knowing the answer, I suggested one teaspoon every other day. Should she take more of it more often?

They say a teaspoon each day will help.

My main reason for bees is a variety of allergies in the family.

Since replacing all table use sugar and sweeteners with honey and getting the asthmatic members to drink more water, we have had only one asthma attack. That's one attack over the last year vs. 4-5 per year.

The honey is not a 'medicine' but replaces other sweeteners that not only are not intended to be healthy, but may be contributing the the allergies rather than helping them

I agree with Nancy.

I use honey because it's healthier then white sugar. White sugar is detrimental to your health.

I have a nephew that claims to be allergic to honey. He claims he has severe breathing problems after eating honey and that this has occurred several times - once while eating a honey laced dessert at a restaurant. So it may not be a 'cure all'.

I suspect that his allergy maybe more to all the pollen in the honey.

To bee or not to bee? - Is not even a good question! http://www.beesource.com/ubb/smile.gif
