There are dozens of species in the wild, half dozen bumblebee species, blueberry bees, squash bees, mason bees, sweat bees, digger bees, leafcutter bees, and of course our honeybees. What do you mean available? --To purchase? You can buy Bombus impatiens, a bumblebee, two Osmia species, and honeybees - apis mellifera. There may be more. Check at the pollination page under alternative pollinators and beekeeper resources.

Steve - Western honeybees are Apis mellifera (Genus species). Many races exist. The most common is Italian (ligustica). Most all types are available. Russian, Buckfast, Carnolian and Italian are the races mostly available in GA. You can purchase bees by mail soooo.... If you are not familiar with bees and are looking to start learning about them you might start with a good book about beekeeping. BEEKEEPING, A Practical Guide by Richard Bonney is excellent.
