I am going to add my 2nd deep today when I get home from work.

How should I do this.... It will have Pierco Foundation(Black).
I am feeding them sugar water now(on top of inner cover), but they are going somewhere also.
I guess I need them to draw this out fast so when the goldenrod blooms here they will that something to store for the winter.

Would it hurt to pull some of the drawn honey/pollen frames and put it in the top and put the new pierco back down in the bottom to get them up there in the 2nd deep.

Thanks

It wouldn't hurt a thing.

If your first brood chamber is fully drawn or at least eight frames drawn, moving one up is a good way to get the bees interested in going to work in the upper box. Add the new foundation on the outside of the lower box. I use plastic foundation and will stay with it, it has many advantages I melt my wax capping’s in a double boiler and brush some wax on the foundation and they seem to draw it out as quickly as wax. And the mice or wax moths won’t eat holes in it. You can scrap off comb that the bees make a mess out of and re use it or pressure wash it and give it back. The stuff never seems to wear out.
