I don't know what I was thinking. I had posted here that I couldn't harvest because it was so hot and humid the bees couldn't cap the honey. So I left it on the hive, but didn't give them any more supers for the ongoing nectar flow! I don't know what I was thinking--"You don't get any more supers, young ladies, until you cap that honey"? Maybe they couldn't cap it, but that doesn't mean they stop bringing it in when there's a flow on! Anyway, I took off the honey the other day and was I sorry for my Alzheimer's moment. They had packed comb and honey everywhere. They built bridges between the frames and packed honey there, the queen excluder was covered with comb, of course the Imirie shim and even the inner cover! Whatta mess! Took me forever to sort it out and then uncap it! The good news is I've got 15 gallons of the most delicious marsh honey I've ever tasted. I don't know what they're finding out there, but the honey is a medium-dark amber and has a hint of apricot. They're still bringing it in, too. Usually by this time of the year, the nectar flow's over in these parts. It's been a really good honey year.

Yep. They always need room to spread more nectar out even if the current combs aren't ripe yet.

They will fill every nook and cranny.
