Two questions:

I have not been able to get into my hives in a while and one of them was draining the feed pretty fast (I filled it the last time I was there). They were filling the comb with it and drawing comb nicely. The white clover is blooming now and the black locusts are about to. Do I need to get in there and fill their feed, or will they be alright? :(

How long after the leaves come out do the black locusts bloom? I should know this...my land is full of it, but before I had bees, I didn't worry about it.

Thanks!

at least here much depends on the season and there are very few rules of the road that you can carve into stone....

however, typically in west 'by god' virginia once the locust and especially the clover begin to produce no more feeding should be required. you might wish to alter this rule if you are starting out from foundation.
