I attended a bee meeting last night. The old timers suggested using strips of cardboard soaked in tacktik, not sure of the correct spelling. How does this compare to the strength of menthol? Any thoughts?

not to tell youwhat to do but its not a legal method of treatment. i dont recall for sure but tacktic is either fluvalinate or amitraz. fluvalinate is the active ingredient in apistan and amitraz was the active ingredient in the very first strips which have long since been off the market.

i wont go into the long winded preaching but the improper use of the active ingredients is one of the factors in resistance by mites to chemical controls
