I remember watching one of these movies and I think maybe a cop in it turned into a lizard..?? not sure..but any way some guy in the movie had a really neat looking plastic pistol and when he pulled the trigger a steady stream of smoke would come pouring out..and right up his nose of course :D :D ..it looks like something that might be useful for quick bee checks..have any of you ever seen it??

That was Stacy Keach as the top law inforcment agent. He had to keep testing the evidence ;)

The newest type of pipes are now vaporisers like we use for OA. No smoke, just vapor. So I read...

If I remember correctly, it was a long, long time ago, we used to call it the shotgun. You put a umm, you know, cigarette in the end and close it. You squeeze it a few times and the smoke pours out. Are you going to roll your smoker fixings into a paper and try it? ;)

Cheech & Chong bred into a new breed on bees, what would you call that breed?

Let's not beat around the bush. The shotgun technique involved slapping a lip-lock on the lit end of a joint or pipe and blowing smoke into waiting mouths or noses. It was a lot more sanitary than passing around a roach though I doubt concerns over sanitation had anything to do with the popularity of the practice. It was a lot like kissing, something that was definitely not sanitary but was nonetheless, a lot of fun.

In any case, finding creative ways to smoke pot was a passion for a lot of people and clever contraptions involving fish tank aerators, soda cans, aluminum foil, electrical conduit, copper tubing, and glassware, corks, and tubing swiped from the school chemistry lab were common in the early 70's. Contrary to to popular belief, pot smoking didn't lead to harder drungs, it led to mechanical engineering, carpentry, computer programming, and apparently, to beekeeping.

It was innocent fun back in the 60's. Now people are murdered over drugs, including pot. The times they are a-changin.

btw, what are drungs?

Ain't that the truth...

>btw, what are drungs?

You think if we put some of that stuff yall used to smoke back in the 60s and 70 in a smoker it would calm the bees. But do you think they would eat all the honey or gather more pollen and nector. Or just fly around laughing at us. :D :D :D :D :D :D

Awww George, you definitely know your way around the shotgun. Your description brings back many early 70's memories (some of which are best forgotten, or at least not admitted to). Speaking of the times they are a changin', I saw Bob Dylan in concert in Atlanta last night. He was teamed up with Merle Haggard. Merle was OK, but we were there for Bob.

I work with the sister of Dylans bass player. Garnier. I hear how wonderful Bob is all the time. As much as I enjoyed the 60's and 70's, I just never caught on to the guy. I guess I was still stuck on Sam Cooke, Otis redding, Sam and Dave, well.. you get the picture.

Speak for yourself Spicoli

2 years of life lost

>Speak for yourself Spicoli

An attempt at humor that I'm afraid is lost on some people, as much of my humor is. I certainly didn't mean to suggest that I advocate substance use, or abuse. I'm clean and sober. I wasn't always that way and I dare say I lost a good bit more than 2 years to my particular addiction of choice before I arrived at the place in my life where I could affect change. Because of my perspective and my experience, I can look back on the past and see the humor in it. And the tragedy.

Who is Spicoli?

You don't know who Spicoli is? Well Aloha dude!
He was the "head" in Fast Times At Ridgemont High played by Sean Penn.
I wish you guys hadn't brought up the idea of a Cheech & Chong smoker. Decided to try it out, blew some at the dog, got the munchies, robbed the honey and the dog ate the bees! Not really but I could see that happening in a Cheech & Chong movie.
