View Full Version : golden bee suit
After searching this site for info on bee suits I thought I might like to purchase a golden bee suit, but their website does not mention a suit for sale. Any body know why not?

Possibly because they don't have a web site??
Someone on here should be along to give you their contact info.

Iddee is right. Use the search function on
this board and you'll find it
There is a Goldenbee.com that has beekeeper supplies but no bee suit listed- I SENT THEM A EMAIL ASKING WHY. They do not answer their phone.
OK Used phone number from a Micheal Bush post, for any one else looking it's 1-601 799 5660 . they want $199 for a suit and said it would tke "about five weeks" I didn't order yet in case there are any negatives posted to this subject. From the past posts there seems to be a problem with delivery.

Order one now. It will make a great Christmas prsent, or Valentines, or Easter... well, you will really enjoy it whenever you get it.

"they want $199"
It will be the best money you've ever spent
on a piece of beekeeping equipment. The wait
is frustrating. but it is the cadillac of
bee suits. I am going to order my second as
a back up this fall.

I ordered one a couple months ago, got the Katrina song and dance. 2 weeks ago I was told they had been sent the wrong zippers and had to wait 3 wks to get the new ones. I sure could have used it last night. Maybe can use it for Hallowene.

I called them yesterday and talked to Phillip Lemoine. He said they are still hit hard by the hurricane and would be almost 3 months till I get a suit after he gets the check. He said this is the only bee suit with patent (2) in the world. Seemed like a nice guy. Quoted $229 for the xl size for me.

I've been waiting about 3 months for mine. I went into this, however, fully expecting it to be a Christmas present in spite of what they told me when ordering..."3 weeks". This way I will have no frustration regarding delays... unless it is still not here by Christmas smile.gif
Hope it will be worth the wait.

Yes, it's worth the wait.

Yea, it is worth the wait. I used my suit today in the 90 degree temps. Poor Dear Daughter sweated like crazy in the BM one, I was doing really well, especially when there was a breeze...although, I kept thinking.... do I have to wear clothes under this and why can't I just be naked?? I have no neighbors to worry about and I really don't care anyway, :D

Your supposed to wear clothes under it?
Cyndi

Well, all those holes, in my mind, I still haven't built up my self confidence in that department yet, :D Although, I do wear long white lightweight leggings and a lightweight cotton t-shirt.
Okay, That's it, no more clothes next time. I'm going streakin', but I am wearing a bra, I'm not totally there yet, :D

Not me, well skivvies and socks... if that counts.
If you were watching the story on AHB's on the Learning Channel tonight, the guys taking the hive down in the Maricopa bush were wearing Golden Bee Suits.

Bullseye,
I wasn't paying that close attention to the show. Are you refering to the 3 Vector control officers in L.A. or the researchers in the field ?
I will have to catch another showing to look closer as I am thinking of purchasing the suit.

>Are you refering to the 3 Vector control officers in L.A.
Yes. The reporter had the new Sheriff honeyrobber on.
Notice that the researchers with the square veils had them duct tapped to the hats. And some of the Golden suits had a patch of tape on the end of the zippers.

Discouraging update:
Just called again today to check on my suit... getting close to 3 months now....the gentleman again reminded me of the hurricane they just went through "a few months ago"??? and he explained their current inability to locate anyone with brass zippers.
As far as when to expect the suit... he said he has no idea. They have "200" suits to prepare ahead of mine and he said the only thing he could do is refund my money if thats what I wanted. No.... I would just like the suit.
Patiently I will wait until Christmas :(
I'm getting just a bit concerned though.

Is this the same suit or type of suit shown worn on (I believe) TLC earlier this evening on the show "Killer Bees"? They showed a huge hive and bees all over the camera and everyone else. Too bad that was about all I was home to see. Looked like a good show.

I wore out 3 golden suites. Naked? That suite is just too scrtchy on that special part. Just my openion, but I like the Brushy Mountain all cotton suite. Have worn them for past 4 yrs while working Africans in 100 degree +. Their hat is great. Holds veil away from neck. I rate the Brushy Mt. suite as excellent in African area. P.S. The Golden suit has a very scratchy head gear.

Yes, I finally did get mine. Been about a month or so. Looking forward to trying it out next summer in the heat.
Guess I'll have to look through the catalog for a new Christmas present. smile.gif

My Golden Bee bee suit came yesterday. Took about 8 weeks but from what I see and the perfect fit the wait was worth it. Looking forward to some steamy hot Georgia July weather. The suit looks like it has to be cool with all the ventilation. The Golden Bee lady (Susie Lemoine) mentioned that they are caught up on their orders. Their # is 504 456 8805.
