sugar roll test

Next week I am going to do a sugar roll test. I scraped by bottom board under the SBB and looked at the gunk. Besides the teeny tiny ants, I think a saw a mite or two. But, I just want to be sure.

About how many/much bees should I put into my jar? 1/4 a jar? I am going to use a jelly canning jar or should I go the next size up?
