Foundation question

Have just acquired a box of foundation for Westerns. It is all wax and is wired vertically but has no exposed crimp wires as I am accustomed to seeing for wedge topbar.
How is this used?
Also, can it be used with grooved top bars?

You are lucky in a way if you mean no exposed hooks? Sometimes when replacing the wedge it will pull up the foundation or cause bowing so that it will not set into the bottom bar deep enough. I suppose you have to use something to melt wax into the grooves to secure the foundation with grooved top bar/bottom bar configuration.
