I'm an inforamtion junkie. Whatever is my interest at the time, I obtain as much written information as I can. Consequently, I have a rather impressive library of books on music, construction, sales and management, computers, gardening and farming, livestock, tractors, and now, bees.
If any of you happen to see a book on ebay called "Bee Keeping and Honey Production-A Complete Course" by Carl J. Nickles, don't waste your time or money. It's a poorly done, home-published photocopy and isbound with one of those plastic comb-thingies. The information is rudimentary and sketchy at best. The pictures are scanned images and are of poor quality. The book is 56 pages of ho-hum, so-what material. Save your pennies for Dr. Sammataro's book and a new edition of The Hive and The Honeybee. I really enjoy Beekeeping for Dummies, too. It's neatly-organized and a quick easy reference without being burdensome with minutiae.
