Bumbles,Yellow Jackets,Mason bees etc. Do they have Varroa ,tracheal mites, foulbrood etc. Such that they can pass it on to honey bees? I ask because I know for a fact that the nearset be hive to mine is 5 miles away. Prior to keeping bees I would see just a couple of honey beees a year on my plants and acres of clover, blackberries etc. We do have a ton of various bumbles, mason and Yellow Jackets.

I was some what suprised to find varroa on my bees after the first season.

I wouldn't be surprised to find Varroa. I doubt there is a hive in North American without Varroa. I would be surprised to NOT find Varroa. You were under the impression that you started without any. As you can now see, that probably wasn't true. I don't believe Varroa live on ANYTHING except honey bees.
