Through mismanagent or oversite, I have a shallow super for my brood box,on the bottom, with a medium on top of it. The queen and brood are in it. How would I go about setting things straight again with the least disruption to all of us. The bees seem happy enough but not off to a good start.

What seems to be the dilema? many peeps run story & halfs with the shallow on the bottom!

Just reverse them!

My guess is MB would say it can't happen if you use all medium supers like I think he does. But I hope someone with more knowledge than me has an answer for you.

| There is a thread down there called "Revamping the Hive" that deals with this issue.

You can be patient and just wait for them to move up. You can cut a couple of frames of brood out and tie them into the frames of the size you want the bees in, put the queen and those in that size box seperated by an excluder and wait for the brood to emerge in the shallow. It just depends on how patient you are.

If you run all the same size boxes, you won't care. Then you just move the frames where you want them. smile.gif
