Well is one better than the other for bees, do they prefer one over the other ???

What ways do you prefer to feed your bees, and why ?????

This is a long held debate. Do a search
with the search function for loads of
chatter on it.

IMO......... Sugar is sugar. As to the
preference that too depends on who you
talk to. I've used both and personally
can't tell the difference. Very limited
time on my part to come to any real solid
conclusion though.

Then you can always add the Cane sugar vs.
Beet sugar debate as well.

There is a study that showed that caged bees lived longer on sucrose "table sugar" than on HFC.

Very nice site Finman. Thanks for the
link!

Here's a nice automated sugar syrup
calculator that works very nice to
make up "odd" batches or quickly figure
different concentrations.

I used HFCS but have since switched to
beet sugar exclusively. Mainly due to
finding a cheap source of sugar.

I get 2000# plus bags and a further
advantage for me is it stores easily
when dry ( I shovel it into 55 gal drums)
and I can mix it as needed in concentrations
that fit the situation.
