My queens are in JZ BZ cages and
I am wondering if you have to pull
a frame with them in a 5 frame Nuc?
With the wood cages I had to pull
a frame while the cage was in
place. These cages appear slender
enough not to pull a frame.
Any input here????

I installed 2 yesterday and didn't have to pull a frame
I ran a thin piece of wire thru the bottom of the cage so it formed kind of hanger and slipped it between 2 frames

I had a thought
you know, with a wooden queen cage, the bees can only get to the queen from one side so that effects how you have to install the cage, you may need to turn it the "wide way" so the screen isn't up against the comb
with the JZ-BZ cage they can get to her from all sides so you can put it in the "skinny way", which is what I did
your probably out in the yard doing it now

If I am puting one a hive with foundation I put a tooth pick through the cage (carefuly) and hang it on top of the frames, if I am puting it in a hive with comb I use a small "pick" and hold the cage just below the wood and slide the frames together just enough to hold the cage and remove the pick.
Pick=small gasket removeing tool with about a 45* angle

I often lay the JZ BZ cages in the hole of the inner cover to introduce them.

I just separate 2 frames slightly and slide the cage down between them. Then I push the frames together enough to hold them it it place.
Not had any problems with them.
