Tried to post this in Tailgater but I am not allowed to post a poll there. :(
Went out and bought a 2003 Grasshopper mower with a 61" deck. 25 HP and lots of power. I have 5 acres to mow. What used to take nearly 6 hours now takes 1 1/2.
I will be using it on the bee out yards as well.
I spent more on the mower than any car or truck I own!! yikes!!

could get a scag if my gals would pack them supers faster.. I run these machines for a living. I would take the Dixie Chopper over the scag ANYTIME. Right now I am running an exmark lazer z 42", a scag turf tiger 62", another exmark 36" stand behind, and a scag 42". We bought the 42" exmark lazer Z last August $7700.00, I wished we had of held out for the Dixie Chopper or the John Deere Comercial.

I purchased the gas model Grasshopper last year and it also cut down my mowing from about 4 hours to about an hour and a half! That with my new Kubota tractor together cost more than what my 2003 jeep is worth. But I love both of them! Boys and their toys!

I didn't see the poll option...
That you need a new car/truck because you own a push mower.
I have a 1978 snapper riding mower, if I sold it for what it's worth, I might get enough to fill up the gas tank on my Diesel truck but then again, might not ;)

If you've got that much space, it's pasture. smile.gif

Ok, I'm a woman and use a push mower for my 1/2 acre but what does any of this have to do with keeping bees? Just asking. Theresa.
This topic makes me feel fine........
My sheep/goats/llamas mow for me. When I shear 'em the wife spins their hair.
Out this way the cost is in irrigating.

gardenbees........ I wanted to post this in the "Tailgater" section but I was not allowed to. However....... If you have several outyards, mowing, and mowing fast, is a bee issue. smile.gif
Buz..... no animals for this rascal. I like to leave whenever I want without getting a babysitter. Also I have a small orchard (200 trees) and animals would reak havoc on them.

I've got one of the big zero turn radius riders too... As for beekeeping use.. It gets the yard work done so fast, there's more time to spend on the bees.

I use Gravely walk behinds....L, LI, or LS. Usually the 1959 L around the hives! The "newest" Gravely I have is a 1982 5665, that one gets the most use because it's electric start.

The only way one can see the results is to vote for something. Since none of the options fit . . .
