I built an observation hive this winter and today I tried to populate it
my one fullsize hive is on all natural cell comb and it's pretty hard to see eggs and young larvea so I've been hesitating, but figured "what the heck, try, and if it fails, try again"
it's a five medium hive and I gave it three frames with a lot of sealed brood and some larvea I could see
so, the question is, how soon should I be able to see queen cells?
I'm thinking if I don't see anything by Sunday I should go try again to give them some eggs and young brood

48 hours.

Or check to see if you already put the queen in there. smile.gif I can't imagine you'd get three frames of brood and there wouldn't be some larvae the right age.

that was my thought, but now that I have them in the house and can look closely, I'm a little concerned
I guess time will tell, the bottom line is if I messed up I can try again in a couple of days
