We pulled three supers of capped honey off of the hives two weeks ago. After extracting we placed the empty frames back on the hives, to have the bees clean them up for storage. We were unable to return the next week but returned on the second week and found all of the super's filled again and frames beginning to be capped. The problem is, we placed Apistan strips in the brood boxes when we placed the supers back on to be cleaned. We know that we can't use this honey due to the Apistan, but can we freeze this and use it for feed on new hives next year? Will the freezing prevent granulation of the honey? Or does it matter?

The short answer is yes, freezing will stop the granulation and you should be able to feed it back. Do a search for Apistan and honey on this site, you should find several threads dealing with the same question. Here is one:

I think there is a flow of goldenrod going on your area. Do the hives smell like old socks? I understand they really stink when the girls are putting goldenrod in. Check out this thread: http://www.beesource.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/002119.html

Yes there is about 160 acres of goldenrod where the hives are located.. what amazes me is that when the supers were pulled, i put 10 frames of foundation on the hives to give the bees' some room while i extracted the full frames.. in six days the bees' had drawn out the foundation & filled these also.
