I just got a super kit with Ross Rounds.

I was planning to try to do a little comb honey. But the book that came with the kit said that you should only do Comb first thing in the spring.

This is my first year, but it seems to me that I am getting good honey production and my bees are busy? Is it to late. I was only going to do one super of it.

I'm in Northeast Ohio.

This is my second bee keeping last year I put a super for comb honey on in august and they filled it out great, I took one supper of comb honey this year and IM getting ready to put another one on this weekend for the fall harvest. The way i look at it what do you have to lose?

I've pulled comb honey once, but the ross round
supers went back on the same day, so I expect
to do a second harvest in Mid-July.

So much depends upon rain. If you keep getting
regular showers, and if you bush-hog or sickle
bar your fields to encourage clover to re-bloom,
you can keep the nectar coming. But without
sufficient rain, things simply dry up in July
here in VA. I'm guessing that NE Ohio is
roughly the same, but I've never kept bees there
so it is only a guess.
