I was wondering how far bees will travel when foraging for crops. I haven't seen anything on it yet and was curious.

I have read that they will fly up to nine miles away if they have too.

Thanks guys, this has been helpful. It is interesting that in the one chart, the bees actually gain more from being .5 miles from the alfalfa, rather than right on it. A local beekeeper has lost a lot of hives due to the pesticide spraying of alfalfa and his bees were right on the crop. They were traveling across the alfalfa to get to the henbit that had the flowers.
