I took off the honey supers to concentrate the vapor. It seems to have brought my count up(165) which is good, but still not the hundreds I was expecting. I am still seeing wingless drones and a few wingless workers. I even saw one with 1 deformed wing and 1 perfect wing.(poor girl was trying to fly)

Another small increase in the mite drop, 185 today, 776 total for 1 week. Should I try something else to increase the mite drop
or just stick to the oxalic?

Newbee be patience it takes a while, let them hatch. Make 4 treatments; OA is not FGMO oxalic acid will kill them.

Mite count 145 today. Lost a few girls today, a bumblebee came in and they fought like crazy. The bumblebee still got in, but took a beating on the way out ( after about 5 minutes of free honey). Lets just say after they got done with her, I finished the job.

Greetings,

I don't have any direct evidence but I'll bet oxalic can be detrimental to bees if too much is used. Stick with the research done in Europe and use your knowledge of mite biology against the mites. Use as few treatments as possible to get the job done.

Each treatment should last about a week to 10 days.

Regards
Dennis

I'm with Topbarguy. Just because a little is good does not mean a lot is better. Sounds like it's working.

Have you tried using powered sugar?? Check out Top Bar Guy's site to see how he uses it.
