I've noticed my girls are working those tiny wild white violets like crazy! Does anyone have any experience with the quality of the nectar and the honey made from white violets?

This time of year great for raising brood but field force not strong enough to bring in reserves from bloom period.

I'm sure it's highly delectable, but chances are you're never going to get to try any :( Then again, I may be wrong and there is enough violet bloom to actually make surplus, but this time of year it seems like the bees consume all the early nectar sources in brood rearing.

I was wondering the same thing the other day while watching my girls mow down on my mom's crocus bed:

Needless to say, I'm never going to find out what crocus honey tastes like, but I'm thrilled my bees have a chance to enjoy it, there isn't much else blooming right now smile.gif
