Went out to inspect, feed, and add second deep on new hive. On the landing board were one white pupae and one almost ready to emerge. No other bodies seen. So, am I in trouble. Both were soft to the touch, but then we just had about an inch of rain the night before. Frames of brood look good. What could cause this? Is it possible that the nurse bees knew these two simply had died and pulled them out?

Some hygenic bees can supposedly detect varroa mite in the brood cells and open up the cells to remove the pupa and the mites.
