Hello I have a question regarding a hive the died this spring ...I sealed to prevent robbing (didnt dfint any sign of fb)....bees founds head first in cells... and now iI am splitting the heathy hives ...Some off the deeps have molded with dead bees head first in the cells and the have looks like black miosture run onto the frames ..will the mold and black stain bother my splits or should I scrap them or steam clean (no soap..just hot water) them before using ? I'd use them as they are,you can remove the dead bee's by holding the frames flat & tapping them against something solid ( don't tap so hard as to demage the comb)the bee's will clean the rest.

I never had much luck removing the dead bees. But it's a nice idea.
