New queen on the way

One of the packages I started this spring has been not quite up to snuff. Queen has been real patchy, not very prolific, and kinda short and pudgy. I have been keeping an eye on things and noticed today that one (and only one) queen cell has been drawn in the middle of one of the frames. It will be capped in a day or so. I guess the girls finally got tired of caring for the slacker queen. She is on her way out we hope. I intend to let things run the course and check back in about 10-12 days to see how things are going. Comments? Thanks

I may be wrong (often I am) but I would'nt
want her genetics carried on. But perhaps
the new queen will have better "dad" genes.

It may well be how well she was bred or how well she was fed, and not her genetics that was the problem. But I see what you mean, Sundance.
