My biggest home yard hive has 1000's
hangin' out. Nothing wrong with the

Mine sometimes will hang out all night...though they thin out some as the night goes on. This morning, they were up and doing something before sunrise...it was just barely light enough to see them flying off to somewhere. Anyhow, if they are hot or bored, they seem to hang out pretty commonly...just check for other signs of swarming if you are worried. Probably, it is just them hanging out

Our observation hive is chock full of bees, the window that the entrance comes through is half covered with bees as well as the exterior window sill. I guess the queen should soon lay an egg into a queen cell cup so they can swarm.
