Subject: help! hive dying

Hello!

So far I have only seen one hive in this condition. It is not foul
brood, sac brood, or chalk brood. I am familiar with these maladies.

Queen is laying good; More eggs than brood. brood nearly all dead.
Dead brood is in all stages of development. Some is very young some
ready to cap some has been capped and has been uncapped. larvae in
purple eye stage does NOT have wings.

I expect I will be sending a sample to Beltsville. But, in the meantime
hoping someone here may know what it is.

This hive is gone. Probably less than a hundred bees left and all the
brood dead or dying. Have not looked at many hives for three weeks. So
do not know how wide spread the problem is.
