Subject: chalkbrood & mites

Hello, I am a newly established beekeeper and have chalkbrood in two
of my hives. What can you do to prevent this in the future? Anything?
Requeening? And does anyone know about the effects of essential oils
for mite control? Does it work? any side effects? I got the idea from
http://www.wvu.edu/~agexten/ipm/insects/pollinat/honeybee/, but i
don't know if this is reliable. Has anyone tested this?
