Marianne,
As you are not trying to make
a break with disease in your brood combs (that
you are aware of) it should be ok to use the gentler method to
get the bees
onto fresh comb. You can ensure the queen is ok down below a
QE by putting
her on the comb she is laying on plus another with lots of pollen
in the
bottom box with the foundation/starter strips. When they have
started
brooding in the new comb remove the old ones from below and place
above the
QE, filing up with more starters. The old comb should eventually
be removed
for recycling or firelighters.
