From: "BabooKyra" <baboo.kyra@verizon.net> Bees and other beings don't have minds like us. That doesn't mean that they don't have minds, or that ours are better. Bees have been around a lot longer than we have. So have spiders (who will build their web so the center is in the best line of traffic for flying food, and change it if where the food gets trapped changes), lizards, birds and fish. The winner is the species that survives. If it wasn't for the cataclysm, we probably wouldn't be here at all. I'm not sure that humans are the top of evolution, or the most dangerous. Other beings, left to themselves, don't destroy their environment, create weapons of mass destruction, or try to convert all the others to one particular belief killing everyone who disagrees. Sometimes I wonder if humans aren't the cancer of the earth, but then I look at my Goddessdaughter... Judging even other humans by one set of standards and values is tricky, much less other species. Humans are very short-sighted and into immediate gratification. Other species tend to work toward the ultimate survival of that species on a very basic, unconscious level. Our way is not necessarily better. Oh, I love the concept of the hive being the whole. That's the way I've always thought of it. Blessed Be, BabooKyra |
