Subject: Re: Moving wax

Hi Dee

The cappings that are fed back to bees as "wet" are almost pure wax, there
are a few pollen grains in honey cappings, but in the main they are just
wax.

When the bees reduce the cappings to powder they may use some wax, but it
would be a very small percentage as the resulting powder is of similar
volume to the original cappings. (I render it along with other wax scraps.)

There are many types of cappings tray feeders, I personally use some Bro.
Adam feeders with projecting lugs, that fit inside a shallow super.

Some use a box with an 8 mesh screen raised 20 mm form the bottom.
