I've been thinking of this
subject a lot ever since it came up. I
was thinking that If we stopped thinking of the individual bee
and think of
the hive as one we could figure things out a lot better. You
can think of one
bee as an equivalent to one human cell. A human cell only performs
one
function and that is the same with a house bee and a forage bee,
unless there
is a shortage of bees they don't trade positions. Another way
to think of it
is, if you think of a bee they are sexual creatures if you think
of the hive
of bees as one they are asexual creatures (I Don't know how this
fits in I
just thought of it). Instead of thinking of a bee as one, think
of the hive as
a body with a bunch of little parts doing certain functions.
