From: "BabooKyra" <baboo.kyra@verizon.net> Excuse me, but animals do talk. Whales, elephants, and many others in addition to the primates. Primates may not be able to vocalize in the same way as humans, because of a different physiology, but they can sign and use computers. It does also tell us that our version of speech isn't the only method of communication that indicates intelligence. Actually, the octopus has the greatest problem solving ability (one of the most accurate gauges of intelligence) of any animal. They cannot develop simply because of their short life spans. On the other hand, human intelligence might just do in the whole planet. No other animal can take that kind of credit. Man is the only animal that evolved to destroy everything around it. And, when I look for a place to live, I instinctively look for a place that looks, smells, and feels a certain way. Bees not only evolved to know what to look for, but I believe they teach each other about these things. Proof of intelligence is very dicey. The IQ tests have been used to prove some humans are superior over others. All it takes is slanting the questions and answers. Personally, I'll measure intelligence by how well a being fits into its environment without destroying it. In this case, bees have it all over us. Blessed Be, BabooKyra |
