Lee,
I've put some foundation under a colony. My contrary mind says
bees mostly
work down...It's we whewmans that are confusing the issue. More
work, but if
it gets me accurate 4.9 great. Remember stores are generally
above brood,
and we're trying to get broodcells, not storage. I figure, and
have seen it
happen, that the bees swarm when the nest hits floor, regardless
of space on
top. Unless you aggressively open up above with good cells, or
switch
doubles around. I thought I was so clever and new, but Wedmore
was
on about that too.
Thanks Dave & Erik. I rechecked,
only some sidebars are so large, mostly
35mm. Odd. Some are secondhand new from old Smith stuff I inherited.
Perhaps
that is why. I must count my frames in those Hives...maybe I've
finger
spaced and messed up. You're right about our weather Dave.
