Scott, save and give the viable
brood to another colony to beef its strength
up! Do not kill the brood, this is unjustified slaughter.

Yes you should be concerned
Scott. You will need a population big enough to
go through winter well and that takes stores of both pollen and
honey
besides bees. One for bees and one for stores, but combined throughout,
as a whole working unit, old-fashioned chimney style.
