Reply:

Scott, save and give the viable brood to another colony to beef its strength
up! Do not kill the brood, this is unjustified slaughter.

Reply:

Yes you should be concerned Scott. You will need a population big enough to
go through winter well and that takes stores of both pollen and honey
besides bees. One for bees and one for stores, but combined throughout, as a whole working unit, old-fashioned chimney style.
