Re: From 5.5 to 4.8 in Norway

Erik

without naming names whereabouts in Norway is your friend with the
Elgon, Buckfast, Carniolan and Norwegian mongrels located?

Here in mid-Norway we are pretty much 100% Carniolan - possibly some
black bees still. Buckfast was popular with a few beekeepers some
years back.

As we are still varroa free and pretty much disease free there is no
enthusiasm here for smaller cells etc., but most beekeepers are very
sceptical to use of any form of medication (be it organic acids or
strips) so it is fascinating to listen and learn from those that are
breaking new ground and establishing what may be our future management
techniques.
