Subject: Re: hive building
Hi Clay
Raw or boiled are on the shelves
side by side here.
Mineral spirits (I think this
is what we call White Spirit) I did use this
when I first changed to linseed oil (I used Teak Oil for about
10 years) to
increase the penetration to what I was used to (Teak Oil is thinner,
at
least in UK). But I soon stopped this because too much dripped
off before
soaking in... Now I use the Linseed "straight".

Gives links to Linseed Oil
& Petroleum Jelly
I use Petroleum Jelly to stop
hive joints being propolised...
I have never used beeswax polish
myself but I know a guy about 20 miles away
that has been using his beeswax this way for a dozen years. This
seems like
hard work to me and I would sooner use the wax for other purposes.
