Small bees in small comb are
packed closer in a winter cluster...
For a given volume they are able to generate more heat (due to
more bees)...
But they are unlikely to need it as the tighter cluster will
not be so
"leaky"
So 49ers should handle six
weeks continuing freeze better than larger bees.
