Subject: Re: Just what is Biological Beekeeping?
Hi all,
It seem that one thing is true.
Beekeepers don't agree about much. My
number one concern at this time is to keep healthy bees without
chemicals at
this time(biological beekeeping). Let me ask this question.
What
perspective are we asking these questions? From the perspective
of the food
industry as it pertains to organic food? Beekeeping as a whole
and the
practices invovled? Organic, hmmm....? On God's earth I don't
think
there's anywhere left that man hasn't polluted to some extent.
I guess it
all hinges on what we are calling organic and wether or not this
standard is
obtainable. If environmental pollutants cause disqualifications
for being
organic. Then were wasting our time talking about this as were
all
disqualified. I think that we need a new term for marketing
our products
that maintains a high standard but doesn't in its highest ideal
eliminate
us. I like what "organic" ideals stand for. But the
word is too..... strong
a word. Might be better off using a word such as natural (occuring
in
nature) for example. At least a standard could be set that would
be
obtainable.
