Mine is an open mesh floor,
not just just a varroa board. There is
no bottom board under the screen on which the bees walk. My
screen
thus doesn't have that requirement for excluding bees. I forget
who
it was, but I was corresponding with someone from Bee-L who has
used
1/4" mesh for quite some time without problems, and since
that's what
I had convenient access to I thought I'd give it a try. :)
Mites
that fall through my screen don't just sit on the floor and die
of
loneliness, they plummet to their DEATH! (*evil cackle*)
