Re: Just what is Biological Beekeeping?

If you look at the "Organic" honey rules, most of us would never qualify since chemicals are used by our neighbors within flying distance ( 3 or 5 miles ) of our
apiary. However we all are interested in "non chemical" solutions to our shared beekeeping problems.

On the other hand "biological" controls maybe as simple as using BT to control wax moth's but would also open the door to genetic solutions that some of us would also
think outside where we want to be.

There must also distinction between hobbyest and commercial. Solutions like the varroa treatment via removing drone brood certainly would work on a small scale but
would never work for someone running 3000 hives.

Integrated Pest Management is probably the common term for our desire

IMHO
