Sounds like a neat contraption . This queen excluder above the
entry
probably also effects swarming unless the queen can squeeze through
there.
One method I know of is the use of an excluder between the isolated
queen in
an upper broodbox and an Imirie frame to let the workers enter
and exit.
That indicates that she is not small enough to pass through the
excluder.
Everyday more to learn .
As far as mouse size is concerned . May not all mice are the
same either.
Here we have an abundance of field and wood mice
I have no idea what there are but they are good looking but of
no use in the
hive.
