Subject: Clean Wax

Something i don't recall seeing suggested during the previous or current discussion on clean wax.

Find out from Dadant (or other, but picking on them now because they are currently the only US manufacturers of 4.9 foundation) how much wax it would take (Kg) for them to do a completely separate run from start to finish (melting to finished embossed foundation sheets), without raising the cost of the finished product.

Then get some sort of group or co-op together where all us clean-wax freaks pool our clean wax together 'til there is enough for a separate run. Some testing may be required to ensure the wax being sent in is indeed clean.

Voila! clean wax in commercial quantities at regular price (plus $? extra for testing?).
Setting up such a group/co-op would involve work/organisation (=cost for someone).
Alternatively perhaps we could interest Dadant (or other) in keeping aside certified clean wax for us, 'til enough accummulates for a separate run, so eliminating the need for such a new group. They would then rightly charge a premium on the organic foundation so produced...

Last time we were discussing wax here i inquired on the NZ list as to who was interested in this idea, given we are at ground zero with Varroa here and currently ALL our wax is clean... but i got zero response.

If i get some positive comment here i may consider trying the NZ list again...
