As you already know Clay is making foundation the hard way to
change his
bees over and is trying hard to get ready for next year, already
having
shaken down some of his colonies this year to get seed stock
and frames to
begin the assault.
Clay was in chat on Sunday
and conversation was fast. We talked about
converting.
If Clay makes the hard way
1,000 frames, then he can fill 100 supers.
For the colonies he has, if
he shakes down 100 to convert then he will need
to super more throughout the year as frames are drawnout.
Clay averages 3 deep broodnests
he has already stated. That means he will
need a minimum of 2,000 more frames, for two more supers each,
to contain his bees, should he go for it! (This assumes no culling
of wrong drawn combs, by the way!)
Clay has a lot of work to do!
