Happy New Year from France!
As many many individuals -
I have been struck down by a virus! - the
best head cold ever, so hoping that this mail does not transmit
the
fore- mentioned.
Whilst lying waiting for better days, it came to me that due
to the time
taken in the down sizing in bees allowing use of 4.8/4.9 mm foundation,
would it not be possible for an enterprising individual to start
a queen
rearing operation with bees based on this morphological size.
These then
being sold as a starter stock - packages etc.
I realise that this is a very simplistic statement, as many other
qualities are to be taken into account. BUT, if a strain of bee
with
adequate characteristics and already retro-ed. to 4.8/4.9 mm
foundation
was available, it would enable others to take the plunge without
having
to pass through all the hoops!
Any body out there?
And waiting for the "This is too simplistic because......"
