Subject: moving hives?

Happy New Year to all,
I have discovered that I placed my bee yard in a bad place for winter
purposes. It's in complete shade in the winter, when the poor bees most
need some sunlight! So I need to move the bee yard, but the problem is,
how? How does one move an entire hive only about 100 yards away? Should I wait until dark and plug up the vent holes and the entrance? And it's two
deeps, which will be too heavy to heave all at once. Any suggestions?
